Our hospital and all clinics are open and ready to care for patients. However, we are screening and restricting access to the hospital. Learn more about our patient and visitor guidelines and COVID-19 resources.

Facemask Donations

We cannot say thank you enough to our community for their phenomenal support!

So many community members have stepped up to help us meet the challenges of COVID-19. For this, we are grateful beyond words, and we appreciate all of the donations (masks, ear guards, face shields, etc.) that have truly made a difference in preventing and responding to this pandemic.

Donations can be dropped off at our main entrance, where you will be met by a greeter outside. Please contact our volunteer services coordinator, Kim Malm with any questions at  or visit gritman.org/coronavirus for the latest information and updates.

Use a facemask

CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.

Two of our amazing emergency nurses, Ben, emergency clinical coordinator, and Nicole, emergency director, took a minute from their busy days to serve as fashion models with two of the collegiate-themed masks made by generous community members and organizations.

Tips and lessons learned:

  • Pre-wash material in hot water and dry on hot before sewing – this will help with shrinkage.
  • Please make each side a different print if possible so that sides can be identified (prints do not need to match).
  • Elastic hair ties can be used in place of elastic (no metal on ties).
  • Please put masks in ziplock baggie w/the count on the outside.
  • Mundy’s Machine & Welding is offering free fabricated nose guards and they can be picked up at 2670 Highway 95 S., Moscow, ID 83843

We have three preferred mask patterns - choose the one that best suits your sewing ability. (Unfortunately, we are not able to provide mask materials at this time)

Mask Pattern Option 2
*Materials not provided by Gritman, and filter and skin adhesive not required.
Mask Pattern Option 3
*Adult size only

How to make filters

Some community members have been making mask filters from new furnace filters* to add another layer of protection for our staff. These require a different mask pattern so the filter can be slid into the mask.

*Make sure you are using the recommended material in the video and no fiberglass
