Having a baby is one of the most precious moments your family will experience. It brings many emotions and feelings: love, excitement, joy … and exhaustion.
When you choose the Gritman Family Birth Center, you can be comforted knowing our caring and compassionate team is always available for you and your growing family through all the ups and downs, before, during and after birth.
“Whether it is your first child, second or third, we will be there for you during every step of your journey,” said Lisa Schacher, a registered nurse and childbirth educator in the FBC.
Lisa and her peers in the FBC have more than 280 combined years of experience, ensuring we can handle almost any situation that may arise and that we can provide outstanding care to mothers and newborns. And our commitment doesn’t stop once you and your baby return home.
We strive to make sure you and your newborn have the knowledge and tools to thrive once you leave the FBC and head home and that whenever a question arises, you always have immediate access to trusted and reliable information.
We provide free online resources, including our Online Clinic, which features trusted information from leading experts; our symptom checker tool, to help you determine the best course of action when your child isn’t feeling so well; and our Postpartum Care Resource Center, designed to help ensure mother and baby are safe and healthy at home.
But if you would prefer to talk to one of our nurses, our Nurse Hotline is staffed 24-hours a day. Just call 208-883-2229 and we can help to answer any questions you may have.
“You can call in with any questions or concerns 24 hours a day, seven days a week, because we are always here for you,” Lisa said.
We also offer numerous education courses for both new and experienced mothers, led by our very own experts like Lisa, to help prepare you for your newborn and to adjust at home.
