MOSCOW — Gritman Medical Center is the only hospital in Idaho and on the Palouse to be named one of the nation’s Most Wired™ hospitals, according to results of the 20th annual Most Wired™ survey, released by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).
This year marks the 10th time Gritman has been awarded this distinction, which was published by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine.
The Most Wired™ survey benchmarks U.S. hospitals and health systems adoption, implementation and use of information technology (IT). The survey of 698 participants, representing an estimated 2,158 hospitals — more than 39 percent of all hospitals in the U.S. — examines how organizations are leveraging IT to improve performance for value-based health care in the areas of infrastructure, business and administrative management; quality and safety; and clinical integration.
“Being recognized as a Most Wired hospital highlights Gritman Medical Center’s continued investment in technology, which allows us to provide patients with the best care,” said Kane Francetich, Gritman’s Chief Information Officer. “Our advanced technology gives physicians and care providers access to the most up-to-date information about patients, right from their phones, tablets and desktops. Whether the provider is at home, their office or a patient’s bedside, this convenient and secure access to information results in better care and better outcomes.”
